Is this body wash suitable for sensitive or eczema-prone skin?

Yes. It's dermatologist approved, 96-hour patch tested on sensitive skin, and suitable from age 3+. It's also free from sulfates, parabens, silicones, synthetic fragrance, and alcohol. The prebiotic inulin helps your skin's beneficial bacteria recover after washing, which is particularly valuable for eczema-prone skin where the microbiome is easily disrupted.

How do I use the Body Wash, and what's the Soak & Seal system?

Apply to wet skin in the shower, massage into a cream-to-foam lather, and rinse. For best results, follow immediately with the Gentle Genius Wet Skin Moisturiser on damp skin before towelling dry. This two-step Soak & Seal approach is inspired by the dermatological protocol used for atopic dermatitis, and clinical data on the paired system shows hydration lasting up to 12 hours.

Can I use this body wash on its own, or do I need the Wet Skin Moisturiser too?

It works beautifully on its own. The ceramide complex and NMF Sugar Complex actively hydrate and replenish your skin during the wash step, so even solo it's doing far more than a standard body wash. That said, pairing it with the Wet Skin Moisturiser on damp skin unlocks the full Soak & Seal system, with clinical data showing hydration lasting up to 12 hours.

Is the Body Wash safe to use during pregnancy?

Yes. It's made with 98% natural ingredients, COSMOS Natural certified, and contains no retinoids, high-concentration essential oils, or other ingredients typically flagged during pregnancy. The KindScent™ fragrance blend sits at less than 0.01% concentration, well below any threshold of concern.

Does this body wash contain any allergens I should know about?

Three things worth noting. The ceramide complex contains macadamia-derived fatty acids (a tree nut derivative). The formula includes oat kernel extract, which is generally well tolerated but worth checking if you have a severe oat allergy. And the KindScent™ fragrance is a 100% natural blend formulated at less than 0.01%, but if you're sensitive to fragrance, a patch test first is always a good idea.

What are the packaging and sustainability credentials?

The bottle is made with 50% post-consumer recycled content and is 100% curbside recyclable. The Body Wash is COSMOS Natural certified by the Soil Association, Vegan Society approved, and Leaping Bunny cruelty-free certified. It's formulated and made in the UK.

How does the ceramide complex in this body wash actually work?

The plant-derived biomimetic ceramide complex works in two ways. First, ceramide NP directly replenishes lost lipids in the skin's barrier. Second, phytosphingosine stimulates your skin's own ceramide production, specifically the ultra-long-chain ceramides (C24 and C26) that most closely match your stratum corneum's natural composition.

How does the hydration survive being rinsed off?

The NMF Sugar Complex (saccharide isomerate) forms a covalent bond with keratin in your skin, meaning water literally can't wash it away. Supplier clinical data in body wash format showed a single use boosted skin hydration for 24 hours, and after one week of frequent showering, skin remained hydrated and protected from dryness.

What does the oat lipid extract do, and is it the same as colloidal oatmeal?

Not the same thing. This is a concentrated 40% polar lipid fraction whose ceramide, sphingolipid and phospholipid profile has been confirmed by Raman spectroscopy to closely match your skin's own lipid composition. It also contains avenanthramides, polyphenols unique to oats that published research shows inhibit NF-κB activity and reduce pro-inflammatory cytokines, offering both anti-itch and anti-inflammatory benefits for easily irritated skin.

Most body washes, even those marketed for sensitive skin, use sulfate or soap-based surfactants that strip your skin's natural lipids during cleansing. This one uses amino acid-derived surfactants, which published research shows cause significantly less barrier disruption and moisture loss than sulfate alternatives. It also deposits a biomimetic ceramide complex and keratin-binding hydration onto your skin while you wash, so you step out of the shower with more moisture than you started with.

What clinical evidence supports the Replenishing Body Wash?

A 21-subject instrumental clinical study confirmed it instantly moisturises and supports the skin barrier, measured via TEWL and hydration readings.
